ADMISSION TO MBBS COURSE
Admission is strictly on merit based on the criteria prescribed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Bangladesh.

50% of waiver of development fee and full waiver of tuition fee is offered to meritorious but economically disadvantaged students (10% of admitted students). They apply in separate application form but appear in the same admission test. They have separate merit list and are not transferred to general list or vice versa. The candidate who tops this merit list will be entitled to Scholarship that will cover the remaining 50% of the development fee.


STUDENTS AND THE ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Northern International Medical College its first year will pursue excellence by implementing BM&DC approved new MBBS curricula utilizing effective instructional methods and media, providing motivational environment, continuously monitoring and rigorously evaluating all teaching learning activities.

a) Introductory Courses in English and Information Technology

At the beginning of the course each batch of students will be given two special courses, one in English and other in computer Science (3 credits; 3 hrs/wk/15 wks each). The English course is to help students to follow instructions in English, understand and comprehend English texts, references & journals, browse websites and utilize Internet services available of the college.

The computer course prepares the students to use computer hard and soft wares as educational tools for learning processes and for electronic communications through Internet and World Wide Web.

Most of the lecturers delivered by the teachers at NIMC and the clinical materials are available on CDs and stored in computers Lab, so that students can go through them when required.

b) Teaching Learning Programmes : Academic Calendar

The students will divided into 4 batches, each having 12 -13 students for tutorial practical and dissection classes. Each month they are provided with an academic calendar-a detailed timetable showing what exactly students will be doing on each day of the month indicating the class clinical ward duties /assignment /evaluation, topics, teacher and venue. In course evaluations are being held through regular item examination, periodic class tests/ assignments, card completion and end term examinations.

THE PERMANENT CAMPUS OF NORTHERN INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL COLLEGE:
The college will have its own permanent campus at Pantha Path, Dhaka has about 40 kathas of Lands. The campus will house the college, a 500 bedded Teaching Hospital Complex with all modern Technology and amenities and other service facilities under a well designed master plan.

Besides the College & Teaching Hospital at Dhaka project also includes setting up of a number of regional hospital sub regional hospitals and peripheral health centers, the objective is to develop an integrated health care delivery system that cover a sector approach extending from primary through secondary and tertiary health care systems, to which the students and interns can appropriately be exposed.
